Dr. Steffen Zeichner

Dr. Steffen Zeichner

We worked with a number of substitute concertmasters in 2021-22 after the tragic loss of our leader Randy Bella. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Steffen Zeichner has agreed to take the permanent concertmaster. Steffen holds a BM in Violin Performance from Indiana University (studying with Henryk Kowalski, Federico Agostini, Jorja Fleezanis, David Baker) and a Masters and Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Miami (Glenn Basham, Charles Castleman, Gary Lindsay, Stephen Guerra Jr). Steffen has also studied jazz violin with renowned violinists John Blake Jr, Mark O’Connor, and Jeremy Cohen. He plays with various ensembles and orchestras throughout Florida. He is the adjunct Lecturer of Jazz Violin at Florida International University and has an international studio of private violin students learning various styles of music with him both in-person and virtually.

Throughout his career Steffen has shared the stage with many top artists including Chick Corea, Gloria Estefan, Cyrille Aimee, Nestor Torres, Kenny Loggins, Ben Folds, Maria Schneider, Terence Blanchard, and George Benson, with whom he was featured as the violin soloist and concertmaster for Benson’s 2013 album, “Inspiration”. Steffen is also an experienced studio musician, credited on a Grammy winning CD, multiple Downbeat awarded recordings, and many other albums and commercial releases within a myriad of styles.

Steffen is passionate about music education. He feels that our mission of making live classical performances easily accessible to people of all ages and income levels, and promoting music education, is a perfect match for his own philosophy. Please welcome him to our orchestra.

Inspiring A Lifelong Appreciation Of Historic And Significant Classical Music

We come together as musicians to bring the gift of music to our community. Few organizations in Miami offer music programs that present works that span from the 17th to the 21st centuries.

The Alhambra Orchestra curates and performs unique and historic family-friendly shows intended to educate and entertain concertgoers. We exist to inspire a lifelong appreciation of music by presenting meaningful performances and purposeful educational events. Ultimately, we work towards connecting with and enhancing the lives of our diverse community and the culture of our beloved city.

What makes Alhambra’s offerings so amazing for our audiences?
Glad you asked, our selection of educational opportunities and live concerts, are as diverse as the people in our community. Drop by at one of our regular season concerts to hear exotic sounds and famous music literature. Experience the intimacy and magic of orchestral instruments almost close enough to touch.

We are your next-door neighbors, your teachers, students, your doctors, store clerks, lawyers, and together we make up your community orchestra, your Alhambra Orchestra.

NEED A MUSICIAN/ENSEMBLE FOR A SPECIAL EVENT?

Bring The Experience And Elegance Of Live Music To Any Affair Whether It Calls For An Intimate Ensemble Or A Full Orchestra

HIRE OUR MUSICIANS AND/OR ENSEMBLES

The ensembles of Alhambra Music Inc. are available for hire for corporate or leisure events. The perfect size ensemble and music arrangements can be conjured up to fit your occasion.

Also, many of our musicians perform as soloists and in small ensembles. Events usually performed by our musicians and ensembles include performing in schools, libraries, weddings, fundraisers, and even funerals. This diversifies the work of our musician and allows them to contribute to our community on a different and more personal level.

In addition, some of our musicians are music educators in our local schools and offer private lessons for children and adults. Lessons, for those looking to advance their understanding and musical skills, are a great opportunity to utilize the wonderful resource of having a community of dedicated and trained musicians.
